Kauer Guitars
At the Kauer booth, luthier Doug Kauer showed off the vast possibilities one can dream up for his Daylighter line of guitars [check out www.kauerguitars.com to use their brand-new virtual builder]. The grey Express model (left) features three custom-wound Wolfetone K-90s—Kauer collaborated with pickup manufacturer Wolfe Macleod to create a slightly underwound P-90—and a Spanish cedar body and neck. This model has a Hipshot Countour tremolo bridge, the first trem ever installed on a Daylighter Express. The Daylighter Jr model guitar (center) has a sunset metallic-orange finish and is loaded with a single Wolfetone humbucker. And Kauer’s standard Express (right) has a Spanish cedar body and neck, two Wolfetone humbuckers, and a TonePro vintage-style, wraparound bridge.
