When assembling pickups, Teuffel first inserts the alnico magnets in a magnetic vice.


He then glues on the bobbin’s bottom plate.


And then removes the assembly from the vise, flips it over, and glues on the top plate.


More glue is then added to reinforce the structure.


The magnets are then insulated with a thin layer of tape.

Kirk Hammett played his on their Death Magnetic tour. Most notably on Judas Kiss, Copenhagen, August, 2010. It has an awesome sound.

Ulrich “Uli” Teuffel should license his designs to Sci-Fi movies, they have the look. They look odd but I bet they sound good.

The Teuffel Birdfish is the absolute best guitar I have ever played. And I have owned, collected, played everything in the last thirty years.
