For a taste of the fretboard phenoms that make Flying Colors soar, check out the following clips of Steve Morse and Dave LaRue.

Watch Morse and LaRue tear it up on “Tumeni Notes,” one of Morse’s signature scorchers.

Before Flying Colors, Morse and LaRue blew audiences away with their jazz fusion-meetsbluegrass band, the Dixie Dregs. This full-length concert video of the Dixie Dregs from Toad’s Place offers a stunning display of the duo’s super-human virtuosity.

In this live version of “Cruise Control,” Morse and LaRue go absolutely bonkers trading licks shortly after the drum solo (beginning at approximately 2:31).

This album is one of the best I've ever heard, but if you're wanting to hear your favorite highlights or technical work strictly from a one-guitarist aspect, you can look elsewhere. This group has put together an album of songs that are as stated in the article: a cooperative blend of virtuosity fulfilling masterful musical compositions. I also was a little surprised at how many of the songs sounded like they would be accessible to a pop market as well. If that turns out to be true, I hope the band goes viral and makes many millions of dollars from this effort. Nonetheless, the prog influence gave this album a perfect ambiance and overtone throughout to suit my taste perfectly. Listening to "Infinite Fire" gave me chills that I haven't experienced in decades. Can't wait to see Flying Colors in Torrance!

Bought this on iTunes because I really respect, and have always been in awe of Steve Morse. I wish I had bought the CD... So I could whip it out the window of my car. Steve, shame on you.
