I have the bernie marsden, and well it plays like a dream, sounds way good (especially the neck pu in split-mode) and is stunningly beautiful no flaws at all. Ok, it seemed overpriced for an asian guitar but sincerely not by much given the perfection attained here. I beeline for the 7, choice of color is tough though.

I own a couple of PRS American Made guitars, and stayed away from the SE line ( meaning Student Edition), until I played a SE245. This guitar plays like butter, and if you didn't know it was an SE model, I would've thought it a American made, high-end model. No regrets, and you'd be a fool not to take one for a spin. It feels like a Les Paul, and sounds great live, and in the studio. Again, no regrets!!!

Take a look at the list and street prices for the SE line. I found several used SE guitars in NY for $400-$600. Comparably priced to equivalent Fender/Gibson models. Not overpriced. Ditto for some of their other models. Make sure you are comparing equals. The high-end guitars are for high-end players. Fender and Gibson also have custom shops where you can pay big bucks. Try finding an old strat or LP that plays as well and sounds as good for the same prices. They are all in the same ballpark. If you compare equals, they are competitively priced.

Not a Gibson, not a fender . . . just over-priced like them! Just think how much more successful their sales would be if they halved the cost! They'd make up more than the difference in volume!! Think of the millions of shlock guitarists out there that could afford one or more!
