For a taste of Don Felder’s wide musical palette and deep musicianship, check out the following clips on YouTube:

Felder and Joe Walsh tear into their guitars at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the Eagles’ 1998 induction ceremony.

While demonstrating his epic arpeggiated parts, Felder talks about writing the music for “Hotel California” and also speaks candidly about his relationships with his bandmates.

Those rockin’ 70s! Watch Felder play the solo for “One of These Nights” on his ’59 Les Paul onstage with the Eagles. Splendid close-up view of fingers and fretboard.

This guy was the best part of the Eagles. Being a Florida cracker and guitarist love that all those cats hail from Gainesville.

WONDERFUL article and interview. I saw the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" and "Long Road" Tours, and they are wonderful. But The Eagles w/o Don Felder is like Fleetwood Mac w/o Lindsay Buckingham, The Beatles w/o John Lennon, or The Beach Boys w/o Brian Wilson.....

That slide player from Australia, Kirk Lorange, that Don mentioned is my brother. I grew up listening to him hone his craft and witnessed first hand what the combination of passion and deliberate practice can produce. Seeing this mention in the interview was a thrill and I want to thank Don for the props. Having spent time with Don Felder I can tell you his talent is only surpassed by his affability and generosity. Thanks Don and hello Kirk, Downunder. Miss you. xox

Thanks for the thumbs up, Don. I had a flurry of messages this morning about this interview. To be praised by you is as good as it gets for any guitarist. Love to the family, all the best. Kirk

Is it my imagination, or is that Guthrie Govan walking in during Heaven and Hell at 3:23?

Don Felder is a major reason The Eagle were as successful as they were. A classical rocker with finesse ! THE BEST GUITARIST OF OUR ERA , NO DOUBT !!!

Don Felder ... brilliant tasteful guitarist, vastly under rated and as far as the Eagles are concerned, they know how to pick a great guitarist .... Don Felder ... Joe Walsh ... Stuert Smith .......... but for me Don Felder is "the man" !
