First things first. I am an avid Eric Clapton fan. I also play and collect guitars. At this time I have 17 guitars 1 banjo and 2 ukuleles. None are signed by anyone other than the manufacturer. I believe in the quality of an instrument not who signed it. I am 66 years old and my next guitar will most likely be a Petros, I don't know anyone who signed that, or my 53 tele, or any of the other five Martins, five Gibsons, four Taylors, or Deering or Ovation ect Get my drift. I play ok but no mater how many guitars I get I will never be able to make mine speak like Slowhand.

I love Eric Clapton , but these guitar and amp manufactors are getting nuts.I would much rather buy a stock off the shelf guitar or amp than a signature unit. Will buying Eric Clapton signature stuff make me play like eric clapton. I think not . and to pay thousands of dollars more for a instrument is just plain silly . Gibson is famous for this with all there les paul signature models . Buy an off the shelf or used guitar and just be yourself and express your self .

Clapton's first strats were put together from pawn shop finds....He took the best parts from several to make a good one......These guy's were pioneers and deserve every praise the receive....If I had big money I'd love to own one of the new copys......So, for now I'll just keep visiting the pawn shops and Ebay

Most guitar players who make it, do so because they are good at it and they work hard at being good at it. There are also a lot of good players out there who never get the recognition. What made the good players great was their hard work and not necessarily the instruments they played. Certainly, a poor instrument sounds terrible, and a good instrument helps. But I hope when all is said and done, my voice will be my own, not an impersonation of someone else. That's why most of us go into playing in bands in the first place, to express our won voices; not to be an unpaid spokesperson for someone else. Having met guys like Clapton, Townsend, Entwhistle, R. Buchanan, they all said that as well. I know it seems weird that they played big-buck stuff, but they all did the best they could with what they had available. Maybe some of us ought to look inside for our inspiration and stop trying to be desperately seeking someone else. Think your own thoughts!!

When's the EVH collection blow through? I wanna see the next FrankenEd remnant that's selling for $20k and masterfully reproduces the original Eddie built from about $100.25 worth of scrap parts. The extra 25 cents includes the quarter he rivoted on it to anchor the Floyd Trem.

For all the babies out there, grow up. Spend your time making something out of yourself rather than asking for others to give it to you. I can't afford it, but I'm working every day to get there. And before you ask, yes, I have been unemployed.

This is more than comical. It is also insulting. Great message to send out... and I'm sure more than $49,999 worth of 'cocaine' went up one particular artist's nose. GC and clapton have now reached an epic level of marketing craziness. Sure, they will get buyers, equally as ignorant.

Can't look at the guitars when they're stuck in Manhattan. Send them out West.

To: SRV Don't be an idiot, Stevie Ray was strictly a Blues player for the most part & a damn good one. Clapton guitar playing spanned oceans of diversity by comparison.
