A/DA Releases APP-1 Preamp

The pedal is built around A/DA's D-Torsion Core technology.

Walnut Creek, CA (December 7, 2011) -- A/DA introduces its new APP-1, a two-channel guitar preamp in a stomp box, built around the company's patent pending D-Torsion Core technology. A/DA says the technology provides unparalleled responsiveness and string sensitivity for greater dynamics, bloom, explosive distortion as well as a extremely compressed, sustained and smoother squeeze.

The APP-1’s all-analog signal path is designed for every playing style and environment, from live performance to studio work, and can provide everything from ultra clean through classic overdrives to modern distortions with our unique, adjustable Dynamics control. The APP-1 can be set up to allow you to go from one extreme to the other by how hard you strike the strings.

The APP-1 also includes a dual-buffered effects loop and a foot-switched Boost (+16dB) driver. The natural sounding passive tone stacks and Voicing EQ allows for greater range in shaping your sound.

The APP-1, designed by David Tarnowski of MP-1 fame, is the first new product in the musical instrument market from him in over 15 years. The APP-1 is available now at an MSRP of $399.

John, yes, this is Dave Tarnowski from the original A/DA as well as Seamoon. Rienhold, you sound like a Bogner fanboy. Maybe Steve just liked the pedal. A/DA and Seamoon made some great sounding and very innovative pedals, so I'd bet this is also in that league.

Is this the same ADA that we all knew and loved, or is it a new bunch of guys using the old name they purchased? Because the original ADA company made some GREAT STUFF!

Judging by the comments left by Steve you'd think he was playing thru a Bogner Ubershcall! Yes tone is 75% hands but call me Clark Griswold, what a suck-up review. To each there own.

But then, maybe Steve works for the company? Steve....what's your relationship to ADA?

Steve, where did you buy it...and for how much? I can't find in anywhere - it's all pre-order....?

My first impression when I opened the box and looked at the pedal was, wow, that's a lot of knobs and jacks. But, I quickly learned how to use it. The design is very intuitive. The preamp controls are all very useable. I first
played a strat thru a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and was amazed at how good it sounded on a strat that I normally felt sounded kind of thin. But, the thing that struck me the most was the dynamic control. When it was on squeeze, it
was like the most subtle compressor. The notes had great definition without being squashed. When I put it more on the bloom side, the notes came out with a purpose. I have played many pedals through many amps, and most have a tendency to sound too compressed if you are pushing the front end too much.

This pedal has a ton of headroom. I feel like this isn't just the reinvention of the wheel, this is a serious tone shaping tool and it has already replaced 2 od pedals and a compressor. Congratulations on a job well done.
