Akai Pro Announces Analog Custom Shop Line of Pedals

The 10 model lineup aims to help all guitarists achieve the best tone possible, from the studios of Nashville to the Blues clubs of Chicago to the heaviest of metal bands.

Cumberland, RI (November 14, 2011) -- Akai Professional has announced a new Analog Custom Shop line of guitar pedals.

The Analog Custom Shop line uses all-analog design to deliver the sound quality of boutique pedals at an extremely affordable price. The 10 model lineup aims to help all guitarists achieve the best tone possible, from the studios of Nashville to the Blues clubs of Chicago to the heaviest of metal bands.

The Analog Custom Shop consists of these ten pedals: Phase Shifter, Analog Delay, Blues Overdrive, Chorus, Compressor, Drive3 Overdrive, Deluxe Distortion, Flanger, Drive3 Fuzz, and Drive3 Distortion.

“The Analog Custom Shop from Akai Professional brings high quality, classic, rich guitar tones to all,” said Glen Darcey, Director of Product Management, Akai Professional.

The Analog Delay provides three-dimensional control in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching, adjustable Mix, Time and Repeat knobs and a durable Time Switch toggle provide precision delay control.

The Blues Overdrive is an essential ingredient in the Analog Custom Shop product line. Blues Overdrive’s heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing is deceptively simple in appearance, wonderfully deep in appealing, warm tone.

The Chorus is is designed to produce a thick, lush customized sound. Chorus is housed in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel. True-bypass switching combined with adjustable Tone, Speed and Spread knobs provide a wide range of precision control.

The Compressor combines Level and Sensitivity knobs in a heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing with classic custom graphics.

The Akai Pro Deluxe Distortion is the flagship of the Analog Custom Shop product line. Deluxe Distortion combines distortion, tone-control and amplifier simulation in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching, adjustable frequency knobs, amp simulation and tone toggle switches provide precision control.

The Flanger is designed for warm tone and hyper resonance. The Flanger includes Rate, Depth, Manual and Resonance knobs in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and four adjustable knobs provide precision control.

The Phase Shifter is one of the more esoteric pedals in the product line. Phase includes A and B frequency toggle-switches and a Rate knob in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and three control mechanisms provide precision control.

The Analog Custom Shop Drive3 Distortion guitar effects pedal is an excellent affordable alternative to the more top-end Deluxe Distortion. Drive3 Distortion combines Level, Tone and Distortion knobs with a Fat, Boost and Warm Drive3 switch in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching, three adjustable knobs and tone toggle switch provide precision tone control.

Drive3 Fuzz is Akai Pro’s Analog Custom Shop solution to the classic fuzz guitar sound. It combines Level, Tone and Fuzz knobs with a Muffy, Boost and Warm Drive3 switch in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching, three adjustable knobs and tone toggle switch provide complete fuzz control.

Drive3 Overdrive is the big brother to Akai's lower-cost Blues Overdrive. Drive3 Overdrive combines Level, Tone and Drive knobs with a Scream, Boost and Warm Drive3 switch in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching, three adjustable knobs and tone toggle-switch provide precision tone control for an unrivaled tube-like sound.

I have the deluxe distortion. Its the most versatlie dirt box. Fro clean vintage overdrive, brown sound and screaming modern metal. It does it all. The cut switch works as a lead boost and it has full on board eq and best its a real true by pass. A must have distortion pedal

Or save some real money and check out the BYOC (Build Your Own Clone kits) These are cool pedals, a lot of fun to make and you might just learn something. O.o

Well, if those Akai "Professional" boxes are not made by Biyang, like the much lower priced w/out the name GFS line of effects, they sure use the same enclosures and designs, not to mention offering similar models w/ different names. Different colr obx but the rest is eerily familiar. Not sayin' (just sayin').
