Catalinbread Introduces the Galileo Pedal

The Pro Guitar Shop exclusive aims for the giant Brian May "wall of AC30s" tone.

Portland, OR (July 25, 2012) – When Pro Guitar Shop approached Catalinbread with the idea of recreating that giant, elusive sound Brian May gets from his wall of modified Vox AC30s, they said “Hell Yeah!,” and put their genius to work to create the Galileo. And what a magnificent pedal it is! A hot overdrive circuit rings out with all of the rich, creamy, 3-dimensional tone of an AC30, with a dedicated, fine-tuned treble boost in front to push it all into the domain of THAT sound.

Volume, Bass, Treble and Gain controls gives you a broad sweep of that singularly expressive overdrive while the Top Boost control lets you dial in all of the high end definition you need to rule your own creative realm. Two footswitches give you the flexibility to operate the overdrive with or without the top boost, or to use only the top boost to put the edge on your already overdriven amp. All of this sonic joyride is housed in a single majestic gold pedal decorated with the well-earned insignia of rock and roll royalty.

would this sound good with a solid state amp (like a peavey bandit) or are they meant to be run into tube amps?

i wonder if this pedal would go well with my vox ac15c1? love my amp, but i feel that it misses some of that ac30 crunch.

The "Deacy Amp" was used on some recordings for certain parts. Most of what you hear of Brian May in the studio is indeed the Red Special through a Vox. This is according to the man himself as he has stated numerous times in many interviews. Of course if yo ulisten to any live recordings this is also a wall of Vox amps.

The amp heard in the Queen recordings was NOT the "wall of Vox amps, but the little solid state "Deacy Amp", and of course his treble booster. This sounds pretty good though.

Oh and btw, the pink pedal isn't the same pedal, hence why it is not even attached to the Galileo, lol. And if you want a price, it's called google. "Shouldn't you be out on a ledge somewhere?"

I don't know even where to begin with your comment Hibidy, considering half of it doesn't make sense. Oh and btw, less freedom? Good luck getting that shipped to you lol.

Pedal is looking very strange! Is having small pink part which separated from rest of pedal which in gold is making look like owner is richer than cousin Pavel! Why in two parts? And why is sounding like many AC30 amplifier? One amplifier always being sound like one amplifier. And why no showing price to us? Is one more reason why America have less freedom than free people of Belarus!
