Cort Guitars Teams with Scorpions' Matthias Jabs for Arena 1

The Arena 1 is the second guitar in the Matthias Jabs Signature series.

Northbrook, IL (October 16, 2012) – Cort Guitars announces today the second signature guitar from Scorpions guitarist, Matthias Jabs – the new Arena 1 electric guitar. The guitar features the Scorpu pickups, also designed by Jabs, with his exact humbucker/single coil/humbucker specifications.

The Arena 1 is the second guitar in the Matthias Jabs Signature series. The first was unveiled last year and offered a simple single pickup, single control set up called the Garage. The Arena 1 caters to the other extreme offering a guitar player everything they could ever want in a guitar. As Jabs stated: “The idea was to provide guitars to musicians of all levels, giving the man instrument that could grow with them from their first garage band to their latest arena tour.”

Additional key features include a Full Force Switch and Easy Grip Tone Pot. The switch provides a direct out option that allows the player to bypass the electronics of the guitar and send the signal directly to an amplifier or preamp. The Easy Grip Tone Pot offers a single coil push/pull option on both humbucker pickups for maximum tone flexibility.

I liked the Garage 1 but this looks a bit dated. A lot of kids have non-trem 7 string tuned down guitars with EMG's nowdays. I dont know how popular this will be with them. With that said, this is a do all guitar. It can have a strat configuration , a les paul config and everything in between with a floyd. He should do a cort version of his new Pheonix axe with the stop tailpiece and an active preamp for the metal heads. But ROUND OFF THAT LOWER HORN !

Just one man's opinion - it's just an opinion folks - but asthetically speaking that thing gives me a headache. Yes Gibsons are way overpriced - but they hold their value so there you go. I'm a Carvin / Fender kinda guy myself.

cort guitars are brilliant and sheer unbeatable for the money (of course anyone who can't live with a guitar not stating a big useless name on it, should look somewhere else). this model seems to be very versatile. good job, Herr Jabs.

It HAS TO BE WAY BETTER than any Gibson junk. I've published videos with Cort next to Les Pauls and 100% of the people that wrote in and tried to guess which was which in a blind test (until I showed the guitars on video of course) chose the Cort as the far and away winner in tone. Not a single person picked the Gibson. The Cort was actually a Gene Simmons Axe-2 with stock Mighty Mite pickups and it just blows the doors off of over 40 Gibsons that I've done shootouts with agains the Cort. People pick the Cort EVERY TIME if they don't SEE it. Facts are facts. Stop looking at the headstock logos.
