Custom Builder: Jason Schroeder Custom Guitars

by Premier Guitar

Redding, CA (April 28, 2008) -- Every once in a while we run across a small scale guitar manufacturer making stuff that is too good not to pass along. We don't want them to be inundated with inquiries from Premier Guitar readers around the world, but then again that's what we do. Most recently, we discovered Jason Schroeder Custom Guitars. Schroeder’s business is in keeping with the trend of handmade guitars built to exacting specifications for individual customers.

His guitars boast some of the most highly-figured flamed and quilted maple we’ve seen in a long time, coupled with exotic finishes (tigerburst) and some atypical woods (redwood tops on solidbodies). We spent a fair amount of time perusing Schroeder's gallery, check it out -- Schroeder guitars are mostly centered around traditional PRS or Paul shapes and yes, that is real wood you're looking at.

One of the coolest thing about the company is its online forum. An entire section of it is devoted to guitars in progress, so you can check out what Jason is working on at any given time, or watch your own guitar take shape.

We’re looking forward to seeing more from Jason Schroeder Custom Guitars in the future – and getting our hands on one as well. Until then, enjoy the eye candy.

Awesome stuff. Reminds of Paul Smiths better stuff!
