Delaney Guitars Unveils the Wedge Guitar

The guitar is a rounded-corner take on the classic V design with custom options

Powder Springs, GA (August 11, 2011) -- Delaney Guitars unveiled its newest guitar, the “Wedge” while exhibiting at Summer NAMM in Nashville, Tennessee. The Wedge joins the Jagata, Sonoita, Bisbee, Big Sky, Arlen Roth Signature, Matt “Guitar” Murphy Signature and Big City Bass models in the Delaney Guitars lineup.

"The Wedge is our take-off on the traditional “V” design paying homage to the time-honored design while modernizing it and adding the familiar Delaney touches of fine woods, state- of-the-art electronics and hardware, and old school finishes," said Mike Delaney, owner of Delaney Guitars. "This project has been a lot of fun working on design ideas from one of my oldest friends, Philip Culp. With Philip’s help, we put together a beautiful guitar with hints of tradition but with a modern vibe,” Delaney added.

The Wedge guitar has a choice of mahogany, korina (limba), or swamp ash body with or without an exotic top; a choice of maple/rosewood, korina/ebony, or mahogany/ebony neck with a soft "C" neck profile; choice of humbucker pickups; Hipshot hardtail or grand piano bridge; Hipshot locking tuners; master volume and tone; and a three way switch.

The guitar will retail starting at $2,175.00.

You keep up the good work Mike Delaney - V's aren't for everybody, but there's always a market for a well-designed, well-constructed and well-priced guitar.

Well, if nothing else, this guitar has at least gotten people to voice their opinion! We're hoping more folks think like Tim and Downright but we have other models that might interest Michael. I hope he'll go to the website and check them out. Mike Delaney

Michael, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it looks great ! Don't forget, people thought the original " Flying V " guitars were ugly when they came out too !
