Dunlop Introduces the MXR Slash Octave Fuzz & Slash Cry Baby Classic

With Slash’s own experimentation and input, Dunlop created two pedals to complement his raw, expressive sound

Torrance, CA (May 2, 2012) – Dunlop and Slash have teamed up to create a triad of products due out just ahead of the guitar legend’s latest album release, Apocalyptic Love. With Slash’s own experimentation and input, Dunlop created two pedals to complement his raw, expressive sound: the MXR Slash Octave Fuzz and the Slash Cry Baby Classic.

The Slash Octave Fuzz features a searing Fuzz tone coupled with a separate Sub Octave voice and an Octave Up Fuzz, all for thickening up your tone with a sinister growl. With an array of external and internal controls, there are numerous ways to combine the main Fuzz effect’s thick ’70s shag with the chainsaw grind of the Octave Up Fuzz and the warm growl of the Sub Octave. Internal Gain and Tone pots shape the Octave Up Fuzz effect. Emblazoned with custom Slash graphics, the Slash Octave Fuzz features all analog circuitry, true hardwire bypass and comes in a heavy duty housing with durable jacks and switches.

The Slash Cry Baby Classic is custom-voiced for the raw, expressive sound that influenced a generation of guitar players. Tuned to a lower frequency and featuring a custom-wound resonance inductor, this wah-wah has a huge dynamic range and a wide sweep. Two side-mounted blue LEDs indicate ON/OFF status, viewable from any angle onstage, so you can always tell when the effect is on. The Slash Cry Baby Classic also features high quality components, such as a true hardwire bypass switch and a long-life pot, and comes in housed in a heavy duty die-cast casing featuring custom Slash graphics.

Now celebrating the 25+ years Slash has used Tortex Picks with the limited edition Slash Pick Tin, featuring the same white 1.14mm Tortex picks Slash takes to the studio and on the road, adorned with new album art and imagery. The Slash Pick Tin also includes a code to download a free digital copy of Apocalyptic Love’s title track.

on 05/14/2012 		I bought the MXR octave fuzz , it is totally horrible ! , I returned it to guitar center within a couple of hours , I never understand how many pedal makers out there manage to make horrible pedals , yet some of there pedals are totally awesome !

on 05/12/2012 		ha - that fuzz is fantastic - a very good Black Keys sound. i expected an Octavia, but this sounds much more mental. Nice. Could replace a fuzz and OC-2 on my board, great! :D

on 05/10/2012 		The sub-fuzz doesn't sound bad; the 'up' function was where I decided to pass on spending the $140. I need an 'Octave/ Fuzz;' I think I'm going to have to go 2 separate units. Maybe a Fulltone 'Octafuzz' or a T-Rex 'Octavius' & a fuzz pedal is the route I'm going to have to go. This 'Slash' unit by MXR is a bit of a disapointment.

on 05/08/2012 		That octave fuzz? wtf??? is it a joke? sounds fucking horrible, some kind of weird Spacemen3 backwards guitar effect. i hope there isn't excessive use of it on the new album. s stripped down affordable wah without the awful overdrive circuit of the last one sounds cool though.
