Eastwood Releases Airline Bobkat and Supro Tri-Tone Guitars


Toronto, ON (October 30, 2012) -- Eastwood has added two new models to their lineup of affordable recreations of budget vintage instruments. Here are the details on these new guitars from Eastwood's website:

Airline Bobkat
One of the early "student" guitars found in North American Catalogs in the 1960s. This model was available under the brands of Airline, Supro, Kay and many others. This new Eastwood release is based on the original 1960′s Harmony (Airline) Bobkat, it features an updated adjustable truss rod and the modern popular Diamond Argyle single coil pickup.

Supro Tri-Tone
Official re-issue SUPRO® Tri-Tone. SUPRO® Guitars were made in the USA from 1958-68 by VALCO and sold through Montgomery Ward. VALCO also made National and AIRLINE brands. We developed a custom pickup for this model with a unique pickup mount to closely replicate the original SUPRO® from the late 1950's. Optional Bigsby kicks it up to a whole new level of Retro Refined!

I "sence" the guy who wrote the copy for the ad can't spell. That, & since this is the S Premium, he left out the opportunity to add another capital S, as in SenSe.

The Airline Bobcat (can not go wrong at that price (pending tryouts and sound-video as well, I like the rythmn -lead switch too, The Supro Tri-Cone looks quite fab as well (I like the Mini-Custom Humbuckers, Price Point though leaves a lot of competition at that dollar level (though Airline-Eastwood dows sell 2nds and finish flaws on occasion with significant discount, I give Mike Robinson and Crew a lot of credit for bring these models to people as The Real deal is way out of most average guitar players budgets , I sure would like to try them both out . Though locally their are no dealers with in at least 70+ miles (closer as the crow flies ) Not ruling anything out these are two cool models and I bet a few more are in the pipe line coming up Holiday Times Good Job
