Ernie Ball Announces the New Cobalt Slinkys and the Everlast Acoustic Strings

Coachella, CA (Jan 26, 2012) -- Ernie Ball introduces 2 new guitar strings available January 2012.

Ernie ball announced that they will unveil a new patent-pending line of electric bass and guitar strings, made out of the most magnetically active material - Cobalt. With the release of Cobalt Slinkys, Ernie Ball seeks to provide guitarists and bassists with a new voice for tone conscious musicians.

Cobalt provides a stronger magnetic relationship between the pickups and strings; resulting in a string set that provides an extended dynamic range, incredible harmonic response, increased low end, and crisp clean highs. These new Cobalt Slinkys are also soft and silky to the touch, making string bending a breeze.

Officially launching mid January, the New Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkys will be available in stores mid-March. With a street price of $9.99 for guitar, and $29.99 for bass, the new strings will be available in all of the popular Slinky gauges.

The second set of strings announced is the Everlast Acoustic Strings, that utilize a breakthrough nanotreatment which enhances the metal surfaces to repel moisture and oils. One thousand times thinner than any other acoustic coating on the market, Everlast strings give longer life without compromising tone or feel. Ernie Ball's new Everlast nanotechnology is applied to both the inner hex core and outer wrap wire, providing ultimate protection from contaminates such as; dirt, grime, acid, sweat, and moisture. Available in 80/20 and Phosphor Bronze alloys, this new acoustic line is available in all popular gauges. List Price $27.99.
