Fargen Amplification Announces John Lennon Signature Amp Line

The line launches with limited edition Artist and Imagine amps, followed later by a production version of the amps and two effects pedals.

Sacramento, CA (December 11, 2012) -- Fargen Amplification has announced a new line of John Lennon-themed amps and pedals, launching with limited edition Artist and Imagine amps, followed later by a production version of the amps and two effects pedals. Here are the details from the company:

Fargen Amplification is proud to announce the first ever line of John Lennon guitar amplifiers and effect pedals. The line pays tribute to one of the greatest artists of our time, and combines John Lennon’s signature tone with his world-renowned artwork – providing a unique experience for musicians and fans alike.

The limited edition Artist series is available immediately. Built with custom white components throughout, the Artist series features a special acoustically transparent and UV-protected grill cloth that serves as the canvas for John Lennon’s beautiful artwork. Five of John Lennon’s designs are now available in limited numbered editions of 11 each.

The next release will be limited edition Imagine series amplifier. Also built with custom white components throughout, it is finished in beautiful gloss white lacquer, with elements of John Lennon’s artwork shining through. The Imagine series will be available soon, and offered in a limited edition of 51.

“ I am proud, excited, and truly humbled … to have the honor to build this line. John Lennon is an iconic artist, poet, musician and composer … and I am thrilled to bring the vintage John Lennon vibe to his fans, and to musicians across all genres that have been influenced and moved by his genius,” says Ben Fargen, founder.

Both amps include proprietary components and a unique design that dampens cabinet vibration. They utilize Fargen’s “Decade Switch”, allowing the player to instantly switch between distinctive John Lennon tones across the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Fargen will release additional designs in its John Lennon Artist series, as well as a production series amplifier based on the circuit, and two guitar effect pedals.

Fargen has licensed the rights to produce this line, from Bag One Enterprises and Live Nation Merchandise, and is distributing this on its website, and through it’s network of authorized dealers including music instrument stores and art galleries. Details are available on the website and dealer inquiries are welcome.

Artist Series MSRP $4999.00 USD

Thought I would express my annoyance at the idea of a 'signature' anything sporting the name of someone long passed from this earth, but I see I am standing in line.

My first rock hero John Lennon is spinning in his grave right now. John was a everyman, he would not allow this monitary exploitation if he were still with us. Instant[bad] karma.

Marketing, hyperbole, exploitation, star association you gotta love it lets paint an amp in angelic white and claim to have the soul and voodoo of a huge celebrity musician and then watch the collectors snap these up in minutes this is an amp for the elite collector nothing wrong with that but hey where's the model for the working class hero I ask

$5K is expensive but the cost in Karma is even greater on this particular piece, IMHO.

This is a lousy cash grab! Regardless of the quality of the manufacturer's products, assosicating the name of a long since deceased icon with a product he never played is shameful!

Ben Fargen makes wonderful sounding and looking amps. However, there is just something a little too "wrong" about marketing an amp that was never played/endorsed/etc. by a long-deceased iconic musician. Sorry, but I would never go there. It would be like Daisy Rock releasing a Kurt Cobain signature guitar....
