Fender Introduces Wayne Kramer Stratocaster

Scottsdale, AZ (January 10, 2011) — Fender introduces the Wayne Kramer Stratocaster model, a spot-on replica of the starred-and-striped Stratocaster that infamous MC5 guitarist and Detroit proto-punk Wayne Kramer used back in the late 1960s and early 1970s to kick out the jams and kill hate. It bears his distinctive U.S. flag finish, with a red-and-white striped body and white-stars-on-blue-background pickguard and headstock.

Special features include a roaring Seymour Duncan ’59 humbucking middle pickup and a commemorative neck plate engraved with “This Tool Kills Hate.” Other features include an alder body, maple neck with C shape and large ’70s-style headstock, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with 7.25” radius and vintage-style frets, vintage-style single-coil Stratocaster neck and bridge pickups, American Vintage hard-tail string-through-body bridge, vintage-style tremolo arm, Fender/Schaller vintage-style “F” tuners and chrome hardware. Deluxe gig bag included.

the color of this guitar is not the same as the pictures on the web sites. the web sites show the kramer strat as red, white and blue, but due to the fact that it is a road worn finish the white is more like a yellow color rather than a pure white color that has been advertised

just got one recently. great ax! the seymour duncan humbucker gives great sound on its own and plus when you blend it with either the neck or bridge single coil. It is very vintage a 60's strat. you have to get used to the fact that it is road worn guitar but hey there are no other cool strats on the market like this one. fender claims it is only making this strat for 2011 so if you want one you better make up your mind soon. believe me you can not go wrong with this guitar. my only negative comment is that it comes with a gigbag which I felt they should have given you a hard shell case for the price of the guitar. I got a tweed case for it now and it makes it even cooler. Kick out the jams brothers and sisters!!!!!!!!

Wow! Simply heresy. Why would anyone(especially Fender) do that to a Strat? Is it under $199.00 USD?

KOTJMF! Hardtail also! By the way, in that Paul Gilbert article a few issues ago, Gilbert was wearing an MC5 t-shirt.
