Fender Releases Jim Adkins Signature Model

Jimmy Eat World's Jim Adkins gets signature Fender Tele.

October 8, 2008 (Scottsdale, AZ) -- Fender has announced yet another signature model to add to their plethora of guitars. This time, Jim Adkins, Jimmy Eat World's lead singer/guitarist, and Fender have developed another take on the Telecaster - the JA-90.

The JA-90 features a mahogany neck set into a semi-hollow ash body, Seymour Duncan Soapbar pickups, independent volume and tone controls, an Adjusto-Matic bridge and anchored tailpiece. While it features some of the standard Tele options, it does include new specifics thought up by Fender and Adkins; Jim Adkins signature on back of headstock, black plastic parts, knurled dome knobs, white pearloid dot position inlays, graphite nut and oversized strap buttons.


  • 25 1/2" scale
  • rosewood fingerboard - 9 1/2" radius
  • 22 Jumbo frets
  • Seymour Duncan Soapbar 90-1NRWRP Vintage P-90 (neck) and SP90-3B (bridge) pickups
  • mahogany set neck with modern "C" shape
  • semi-hollow ash body
  • 1.650" width at nut
  • ebony transparent or crimson transparent - with optional urethane finish
