Nashville, TN (May 19, 2008) – Fishman is rolling out an amplification system that is made specifically for acoustic guitarists/singers. Look for the company to demo the product at Summer NAMM in Nashville.  Here's the skinny...(literally!)

The new Fishman SoloAmp is a lightweight and portable all-in-one amplification system designed to provide the singer/songwriter with exceptional sound quality and coverage in a wide variety of venues. SoloAmp uses a compact line array speaker design to provide wide horizontal dispersion and deeper sound penetration than traditional acoustic combo amplifiers.

Starting with a fully digital (Class D) power amp capable of producing 220 watts, the SoloAmp features ultra-high excursion drivers and servo power amp implementation that eliminates the need for subwoofers, yet produces a full, rich sound comparable with high-priced consumer audio systems.

Designed to be carried in one hand and provide instant set up, SoloAmp features two mic/instrument input channels with 3-band EQ, phantom power and high-quality preamps that accept a wide range of input source - from acoustic instruments to microphones and line level sources. Each channel also offers independent reverb level, effect loop, plus phase and notch filters to fight feedback.

SoloAmp’s arsenal of features includes four digital reverb effects; Monitor Input/Output for on-stage ensemble monitoring, an Auxiliary stereo input with level control; Balanced XLR D.I. outputs for both channels, plus main mix; a set-break Mute button and universal voltage for worldwide operation.

SoloAmp weighs 25 lbs without the stand. It ships complete with a padded carry bag and the stand.

Well I have one and I love it. The price is great and the quality is top of the line. This is the best I ever had any amp sound like an acoustic. my friend also bought one of these units and he is a techy kind of guy and he also agress that it's the best system on the market for the singer-songwriter. Don't let the size fool you, it has a lot of punch and projects very well..

The Bose can do way more - monitoring, more bass range, tc.. It just can't get that loud. Looks like this thing will be good at what it's designed for, though.

Nice system. The Bose is noce, but expensive, this gives musicians another choice. Fishman has always been the best acoustic sound out there.
