The ASAT Deluxe Carved Top sports an 1-5/8” nut-width neck, a classic C- shaped back and 12” fingerboard radius. Holding it down on the other end is a G&L Saddle Lock bridge designed by Leo Fender for comfort and singing sustain. The Gagon-designed pickups are split via a push/pull tone pot.

  • G&L Alnico humbuckers designed by Paul Gagon
  • Bound flame maple top over carved mahogany body
  • Hard-rock 25-1/2” scale maple neck with 22-fret rosewood fingerboard
  • G&L Saddle Lock hardtail bridge designed by Leo Fender

I have one. It is a little beast! My guitar teacher, who owns an ASAT thinline with twin MFDs and which he loves, says he is going to swap that for one of these asap. It looks very fine in Trans Red. Despite being a very light guitar (and comfortable) it has bags of sustain and heaps of attack from the twin HBs. The coil tap switch gives a wide tonal range allowing for example instant switching between a more restrained rhythm setting to a meaty, attacking style for lead work.

That's a sweet guitar for an amazing street price. Way to go G&L.

Why wouldn't they make one of these in a standard ASAT deluxe instead of the non american made "Tribute" series?

I'm an owner of a NAMM ASAT from a few years ago. It's one of the greatest guitars period. I'm certain this new model will garner praise worldwide. Bravo G&L

I think Leo should have re-created his updated take on the Jazzmaster before he passed. But G&L is still running solid and they should take this idea and run with it (preferrably with 3 MFD soapbars) I always found it funny that people will buy a G&L and then swap out Leo's MFD pups. So many other companies to swap out stock pups, but to swap out Leo's creation, hahahaha, kinda missing the point in my book.

I've always been a G&L fan.. Like the look of this new one, even if its a tribute. Curious about how the pick-ups work out.
