Gibson Custom Unveils the Don Felder "Hotel California" EDS-1275

The guitar features Felders modifications and era-correct hardware.

Nashville, TN
(August 18, 2010) -- Gibson Custom Shop is paying tribute to Don Felder's work on "Hotel California" with the new Don Felder "Hotel California" EDS-1275 double-neck. The guitar features Felders modifications and era-correct hardware.

The guitar features a solid mahogany body in custom aged white nitrocellulose finish. Both necks are three-piece maple with rosewood fingerboards and feature Kluson-style tuners and rounded "Felder" neck profiles. The guitar features Tune-o-matic bridges and custom-designed claw tailpieces. The pickups are a Burstbucker #1 and #2 for each neck with one tone and two volume controls, a three-way pickup selector switch, and a second neck-selector toggle switch. The guitar features two 1/4" output jacks, like the original Felder modified so that the 12-string neck could be routed through a Leslie rotary speaker cabinet.

The release is limited to 150 guitars, 50 of which are signed by Felder. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a custom case. MSRP $9174 or $12,704 (signed).

I think that burstbucker 1 and 2 are one of the best non boutique pickups out there. I only wish the burstbucker 1 was easier to get. http://www.officialguitarbuyersguide.com /?p=88

Don Felder's signature is worth $3500? Way to go, Don! Wonder what it costs with some of Don's own personal DNA?

Gibson is on its way to becoming the company they were in the seventies. Overpriced instruments with poor quality were what they put on the market back then. But as long as people keep buying their stuff they will continue with that I suppose... Sad but true...

Where's the Gibson logo on the headstock? Could this guitar be actually made in China? I think the price is a rip-off!

I agree with other comments about Gibson's outrageously over-priced guitars. Unfortunately Gibson is no longer the company it used to be. Buy anything else but not an over-priced Gibson guitar.

I think Gibson is just out of control, the prices on their stuff is just ridiculous anymore and its true if you happen to be looking for one of their guitars even the custom shop stuff you have to go and play 25 or more before you find a good sounding and playable one its just sad that one of oldest Guitar makers in the world has become one of the worst

It's a signature model because they made the neck a little rounder?? Does anybody buy the over priced junk they keep pushing. I love the ad in this months mag showing the difference between the 'custom shop' models and the crap hardware they put in the rest of their over priced stuff. I have an Eppy LP that plays and sounds better than most other LP's costing four times more.

Spend it if you got it - I hope Don gets a nice chunk of that - the Eagles didn't do him too many favors. Bravo for Don. Collectors rejoice. I'll have to stick with the one I have. Cheers!

The guitar doesn't even have Gibson on the headstock? WTF? Fool and his money is right.
