Premier Guitar

The Les Paul Studio Baritone is a 28" scale length guitar designed for lower tunings used in today's modern rock, thrash, and metal.

Nashville, TN (June 3, 2011) -- The Les Paul Studio Baritone is a 28" scale length guitar designed for lower tunings used in today's modern rock, thrash, and metal. It has a solid, carved Grade-A maple top and weight-relieved Grade-A mahogany body with a genuine nitrocellulose finish in high-gloss Honey Burst.

The guitar's glued-in neck is crafted from solid quarter-sawn Grade-A mahogany and carved to a rounded '50s profile. It has a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12-inch radius. Other period correct details include a 17-degree back-angled headstock for optimum string pressure in the PLEK-cut slots of its Corian nut, and a 1 11/16" width. For pickups, it has Gibson's 496R in the neck position and Gibson's 500T in the bridge.

80's Boy - It is only a 28" scale. Bass scale is mostly 34" with way more string tension. Are you suggesting that all bass necks fail?

Sorry guys, you are definitely right! This is not a review, it's a news posting based on information provided by Gibson and their materials say 22 frets. There are definitely 24 in the pictured guitar!

I saw the MSRP on Gibson.com (not street price I know) but wow,(and a Studio model also) and therer are other quality Baritone guitars out there. Jerry Jones has Retired so if interested in his check his web site out and dealers with a * as those "may" still have active stock, His Guitar-Bass-Baritone-Sitar + factory has closed, bummer, Enjoy Retirement Mr. Jones.
