Tempe, AZ (Aug. 26, 2008) – Here's an update from The Gretsch Company -- as you know, this is a big year for Gretsch...

In celebration of Gretsch’s 125th Anniversary, Fred Gretsch, president of The Gretsch Company, and Joe Carducci, marketing manager of Gretsch Guitars, embarked on a 17-city summer tour of the United States.

Gretsch dealers across the country welcomed Fred and his fans – they were treated to a multimedia presentation featuring notable Gretsch historic dates and musical performances, as well as finger-style picking by celebrated guitarist, Bobby Gibson, a performing member of the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society. Fred signed autographs and handed out gifts to attendees.

Rocky Schiano, store owner of Street Sounds in Brooklyn, NY, received an extra special gift during Gretsch's tour. Fred and Joe presented Rocky with a special proclamation acknowledging his contribution to the Gretsch legacy.

I will never understand why Gretsch never sold better than it did. They made some of the best sounding and durable instruments in history.

Ask any luthier what work they ever were asked to do a a Gretsch, it was all customization and damage repair, never correcting a design flaw from the factory.

The Sierra Rancher acoustic with the strange triangle soundhole always sounded great. Their electrics were great too, but I love the acoustics.
