Los Angeles, CA (December 7, 2012) -- Ibanez has added an 8-string, fixed version of its RG model guitar. Here are the details from ibanez.com:

The RG Fixed series brings you the world’s premier metal axe, with the simplicity and sustain of a Gibraltar Standard bridge. These RG Fixed models can take and dish out whatever vicious pounding they get, and are as stable as a rock. RG Fixed models represent the answer to many players' desires: the in-your-face sound of an RG without the double-locking hassle.

Features:

  • Fast, flat and thin 5pc Wizard II-8 Maple/Walnut neck, with KTS™ Titanium Reinforcement rods within.
  • IBZ-8 pickups feature deep and warm tone, but not muddy even in down tuning.
  • 1 Volume, 1 Tone, and 3-way switch
  • Extra long scale 27" neck offers clear articulation, long sustain, and opens up even more tonal possibilities with factory-set down tuning. (1D#, 2A#, 3F#, 4C#, 5G#, 6D#, 7A#, 8F)
  • Gibraltar Standard bridge offers smooth playing comfort and maximum string vibration transfer
