Cleveland, OH (May 21, 2011) -- Jon Hill is pleased to announce the formation of Bootleg Guitars and Basses, a full service design and manufacturing company. Long time MI veteran, Alan Shipston will serve as President and Scott Borgio is the CFO. I just saw the FOX8 segement today of Bootleg Guitars Company here in Cleveland Ohio. I was very impressed aside from having to suffer thru Kenny Crumpton's antics. For anyone who knows anything about Guitar Making, CNC production is State-of-the-Art and to actually see this Jon Hill dude passionately displaying steps involved with CNC production in making electric guitars, design & tweeking details of some very cool instruments has just blown me away. I would have never known about this guy Jon Hill had it not been for the FOX8 segement. I wish Jon all the luck in the world, he's a good man :)

I wish the telecaster, the strat, and the les paul would go die.
They are stale. There are better, more ergonomic and more modern designs to be had. Fender and Gibson are tired and old.

Without a doubt Jon Hill makes an incredible instrument..I know for a fact he is a big time wood guru. He knows everything about wood curing processes not to mention he only uses the choicest cuts for his guitars. Jon is a super good dude too...he will build you what you want and it will be something great! Good Luck Jon

I first met Jon Hill in 1991 at his shop on Union Ave when he was building a guitar for a friend of mine. That instrument sounded amazing and was absolutely beautiful. Owning a Hill Guitar (as just about everyone in a band in the late 80's/early 90's did) was the sign of a serious musician.

I wish Jon the best of luck with the new company.
