Fayetteville, NC (June 30, 2009) -- Lava Cable introduces a new version of its revolutionary solder-free plug. This new plug comes with a black anodized housing and gold-plated stem and grounding sleeve and is available in both right angle and straight versions. It is the lowest in capacitance of any like plug on the market and the gold plating offers a minor increase in conductivity over nickel to provide for slightly increased sonic performance. Like the nickel-plated version, this plug is also the smallest any like plug on the market allowing for the tightest spacing of pedal using solder-free plugs.

The new Black Gold Lava Plug retails for $9.50 each and comes in kits with 10’ of Lava Mini ELC Cable, 10 Plugs plus a stripping tool for $113.95 and can be purchased direct on Lava Cable’s website or through Lava Cable dealers carrying this product.

I agree about the George L's. They did it first(?) and did it best. I've been using them for 6 years and only had to redo maybe less than 5 cables and that was due to me changing around my effects on my board. I even quit using Monster cables and use George's for my instrument and F\X loop cables.

I haven't done an A-B on a bunch of different cables, but I did do a couple of brands as I was skeptical too. I found a slight, but noticeable difference between a higher-end cable and 2 standard brands and there's a difference. Would it matter in a live performance ? I don't think so, but in a recording situation--yes,possibly.I'd like to try a really high-end cable , but can't afford to. I'll leave it to the big guys.

I love that everyone is finally waking up to the madness that people are trying to get away with. Half of the crap out there is all a gimmick anyhow, cats just trying to take advantage of the ignorant, the beginner, kids, get my drift.... If it works why replace it? If there is something out there that can do just as good a job for cheaper why spend money we don't have? If we ignore these products and refuse to pay these insane prices they will either go away or be forced to drop the price. Practice, hard work, and great hands are what get you a killer tone.

How many musicians you know has spare cash for this kind of product?10 ends and 10 feet of cable will make 5 cables at $22.80 /cable,or 1-10 foot cable with 8 spare ends at 113.95,or 2-5foot cables at 57.00 EACH OR-----GET MY DRIFT.C'mon folks, let's listen to the music and ignore the scratches. Looks like a nice product but it is twice what I would be willing to pay. I'll stick with my soldering gun and the old style plugs.
