NAMM VIDEO: Egnater Tourmaster 4100

Premier Guitar

Anaheim, CA (January 27) - We got a chance to hear Egnater's new Tourmaster 4100 at NAMM '08. Bruce Egnater himself walked us through the amp's features while Keith Howland of Chicago played through it. The Tourmaster 4100 brings classic Egnater warmth and richness to a 100 watt, four channel setup that ranges from crispy clean to full-on heavy grit. This amp has the boutique features you'd expect from Egnater, in this case a custom transformer, switchable wattage for each channel, an edge-leveling contour control and more. This is the amp that Bruce has at Guitar Center. Howland, a long time Egnater player, was actually hearing this particular amp for the first time as he did the demo.

I play for ANIKUS out of Dixon IL. I went from a CRATE BV120 to the 4100. WOW MAN WHAT A DIFFERANCE IN SOUND QUALITY. I will never buy anything different. This has every sound I was looking for, and thats after playing 14 different heads.

I bought the 4100 half stack this weekend and it's fantastic! After spending the last year researching and trying new amps, we have a winner!

Thank you Premiere Guitar magazine - I don't think I would have heard of this amp were it not for your showcasing it in the magazine and the NAMM clip.

The other guitar player in my band bought the combo and had a problem with the contour switch. It would go in and out and cause volume and tone issues. GC replaced it with no questions asked. FYI these things are ungodly heavy!

I was reading on some other forum about this amp (the combos in particular) having some quality control problems - bad soldering joints, loses handles etc. Has anyone here experienced any of this?

Tried the 4212 combo at guitar center and I have to tell you I was Impressed!!! great tone, very responsive!!! I currently own A vox ac30, Fender tonemaster, 62 bluesbreaker reissue, and two vinatge 64 blonde bassmans, Matchless dc30, and the Tourmaster 4212 competes with them all!!!

I bought two Egnater Tourmaster 4212 combo's a week apart! I'm a fusion/jazz and r&b genre player that has owned Boogie Heartbreaker, Road King, Nomad, DC-10, and TriAxis rigs with 2:90 power amps and a TOL 100 /Rocktron Combo. However, the tones that I get from the Tourmaster combo is pheonominal! I've been playing 37 years and I finally have the amp tone that I've dreamed of. I'm using Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic, Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top, Original 1974 Fender Thinline Telecaster, and a Martin Nylon all through the Egnater's and my tone is straight crazy good!!! So, I bought one for gigging and one for home and studio use! By the way, I liked my Boogies' but the Tourmaster 4212 Combo is the stuff!!!

This amp can't be priced right. The tone you hear in that video is supposed to cost much more than that.
