Premier Guitar Launches Pro Pedalboard Giveaway

Premier Guitar

Premier Guitar is launching its coolest giveaway ever! Starting Friday, Feb. 10, you'll be able to enter on PG's Facebook page for your chance to win one of five replicas of pro pedalboards as seen in our Rig Rundown videos and March 2012 issue! Entrants can enter for a chance to win a replica of pedalboards used by Joe Satriani, Brent Hinds (Mastodon), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Becker (Steely Dan), and James Valentine (Maroon 5). Each pedalboard replica will come fully loaded on a Pedaltrain Grande (AKA The Pedaltrain 4) in a flight case, wired with patch cables from George L's, and powered by Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus supplies. Click here to head to the PG Facebook page and enter.

What if I don't have a Facebook account?

Well here's the perfect reason to get one. Signing up for a Facebook account is easy, all you need is to be a human and have an email address.
Click here for more on how to sign up for Facebook.

NEW! Will Facebook have access to the information I provide in the entry form?
No. The entry form requires you to enter a valid name, state/province, country, and email address so we can contact you. The form is operated independently of Facebook, so you are only sharing that information with Premier Guitar, unless you opt in to receive additional information from sponsors, in which case we would share the information only with the sponsors you choose.

Can I enter on my mobile device?
Unfortunately, you won't be able to enter through your mobile device at this time.

How often can I enter?
You can enter once per pedalboard.

Who's eligible to enter?
Residents of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia are eligible to enter.

Click here for full rules for North America (U.S., Canada, Mexico)
Click here for full rules for Europe (FRANCE, BELGIUM, UNITED KINGDOM, LUXEMBOURG, GERMANY, AUSTRIA, SWEDEN, FINLAND, DENMARK, NORWAY, SPAIN, IRELAND, AND THE NETHERLANDS)
Click here for full rules for Australia

So are the pedalboards exactly what I see in the pictures?
We tried to replicate the pedalboards you see in the images as closely as possible. However, in a few cases, certain pedals have been discontinued so the finished pedalboard may feature an updated or reissued version from the same manufacturer. You'll be able to see complete listing of what is on the pedalboard when entering for a chance to win. In addition, some switching units used for the artists' multi-amp setups are not included.

We'd like to thank our sponsors for helping us put such an awesome giveaway together!

Hey there PG, I see you've opened up your contest to residents of Australia. How about doing the same for New Zealand in future? We're right next door!

Continuing from below. To characterize the resistance some of us have to Facebook or to PG on FB as paranoia or backwardness our to tell us we should just try it not just misses the point - why does a nonsubscriber browsing FB get to enter this deal when those of us who support the magazine in all these other, more vital ways get excluded? The pedalboard bonanza, an especially sexy contest, especially for people who may be unemployed, injured, ill, between gigs, or just starting out, but for anyone reading the site or the magazine. Why not offer entry to this contest, and others now sequestered on someone else's site, to people who cannot or will not - because of fairly common company security policies or for commonsense personal reasons - sign our machines away to Facebook and to the many people who exploit it, but who otherwise support PG and its own site? Do what you want on Facebook, offer them any of the benefits we pay for and make possible if that works for you. Just don't exclude us because we can't follow you. Make sure the core audience gets accommodated with forcing people into pidgeonholes that do not fit them for no good reason. Tell me again just to try it or that the world is screwed anyway so why should I care about the various ways Facebook use will get my computers rehacked and destroyed again. Some of us speak from experience and do not just blurt out whatever pops into our pin heads. All the paranoia and obstinacy characterizations are disrespectful, assuming those of us uninterested in FB are unfamiliar, misguided, irrational, or mentally ill. No such thing need be true. As though we do not know Facebook and as though being on Facebook has no negative security our time-drain consequences. Believe that stuff if you like, but give my regards to the tooth fairy and the invisible hand next time you see them. The issue is not our attitudes or our failings or even Facebook. It is about Premier Guitar and the way it treats the people who support it a

What offends is the moving of the goalposts. I have no problem with offering the giveaway to people who only use Facebook and do not use the website, signing up and agreeing to terms, then doing You Tube to see the videos, then signing up for e-mail, then for Perks e-mail, then for advertiser e-mail, Backstage Pass, etc. Then we subscribe to the print magazine, because, after all, though it is available for free in digital form with enough sign-ups and legal agreements and notifications accepted, we want to support the work and the venture, beyond buying advertised goods and perusing large numbers of advertisements. Yes, send me these ads in printed form along with the same articles and images I see online - I willingly pay you to do so, though I have quarrels with your business model. Because I want to support the editorial content and a number of the writers and the graphic designers and photographers and floorsweeps and even because I want to underwrite, in my small way, the collection of vendor ads in one place. Among these latter promotions I support in multiple ways, I look forward to the so-called giveaways. These give the faithful some return, from the publicity budgets of advertisers great and small, on the time and money we spend on these advertisements and the products the advertisers promote. We have jumped through so many hoops and demonstrated our affection in so many ways, it just galls to be asked to sign up for something else, something completely unrelated that happens to have onerous security side effects and privacy negatives on another third-party site - Facebook - that go well beyond what we have already accepted for You Tube just to get access to the chance to be selected to receive buyback product or products from the aforementioned vendors. And Facebook offers nothing to end users not already offered on PG's own site - just the negatives, flavor-of-the-year status, and maybe convenience for people too lazy to leave Facebook.
