Quilter Amps Releases the MicroPro 200 Guitar Amplifier

The Quilter MicroPro 200 preserves the classic tone that's lightweight and portable.

Costa Mesa, CA (March 19, 2012) -- Quilter Labs, LLC has unveiled its debut amp, the MicroPro. · 200 watts power output
· High-quality, high-power 8” speaker
· Vinyl covered laminated wood cabinet
· Light and portable (19 lbs.)
· 6-function foot controller
· Soft cover and power cord

The MicroPro 200 is available for $899 direct from Quilter Amps.

Burt, the amp does use a master volume. The effects loop is after the preamp, and before the volume, in both channels. I have one of these and I love it. Really does give me the warmth and responsiveness I am used to from tube amps. Also takes pedals very well. Overdrives seem to work best in the clean channel. The company is also very responsive to questions. They are at www.quilterlabs.com. Regarding the color comment, there is just the one tolex color, but the Studio model is a tolex-free cherry finished wood. Costs extra, but it does look great. I upgraded to it.

This may be just the thing to fill the gap left by Gallien Kruger in the 90s. Remember the little amp about the size of a lunchbox? I had a GK 206ME - 130 (?) watts in a packege the size of a lunchbox. Gigged with it until it self destructed. GK dropped guitar amps altogether since then. This may be the thing to fulfill the "small, light, loud gigworthy" amp need. If I use it as the amplifier for a pedalboard - say a Line6 PODHD500 ... is there a master volume control AFTER the effects return?

Yeah, the demo is pretty good, the amp seems pretty versatile. But, um, is that the only color they come in...?

It is impressive in the demo and I read on their site that they have a 30 day buy back policy. Thinking about checking one out.

This little guy actually sounds really good in the video on their site and that acoustic guitar/mic input is pure genius- would love to see a review!
