We're truly glad to see that the recession hasn't slowed down rich classic rock enthusiasts. One such enthusiast just dropped $30,000 on this 1971 Orange MATAMP was supposedly used on tour with Zep from 1971-1973. We gotta admit, the "Custom Built for Jimmy Page" engraving is pretty cool and the thing may very well still sound great -- it was previously in a private collection. $30,000 cool? That's in the eyes of the buyer.

Jimmy Page used Orange Amp on tour. I saw some pics of Led Zep in guitar world magazine last march and I noticed the Orange amps in those.

I've heard that Page only used the Orange amp live for use with his Theremin.

If you've ever seen"The Song Remains The Same" Page does have an Orange Amp as well as Marshall's.

"If you read the article at the Gibson site you'll see that Page using a Supro in the studio; was a legend. It's nothing more than hearsay."

The article doesn't say he never used a Supro. He said the following himself in an interview in Guitar Player magazine in July of 1977:

What kind of amplifiers were you using for session work?

JP: A small Supro, which I used until someone, I don’t know who, smashed it up for me. I’m going to try to get another one. It’s like a Harmony amp, I think, and all of the first album (Led Zeppelin) was done on that.
