A few America-themed songs for the holiday weekend.

What are you doing for Independence Day? Cookout? Having friends over? Surely you've prepared some nice, patriotic songs to entertain your guests... haven't you? Well, you're in luck. We've done the work for you and searched out some America-themed songs for you to learn.

Ultimate Guitar has a few variations on America the Beautiful and the Star Spangled Banner if you're looking for something traditional.

We suggest mixing it up with some slightly-hipper songs that you can tailor to the audience. GuitarInstructor.com has tabs for American Woman (Guess Who), America (Simon and Garfunkle), American Girl (Tom Petty) and American Soldier (Toby Keith). They're $.99 apiece, but it's a small price to pay for looking prepared.

If you're reading this now, you have less than a day to get the songs down, so get to it and have a safe and fun holiday weekend. Don't think you can learn the songs in time? You can always pop over to Wal Mart and drop a Benjamin on the patriotic kids acoustic pictured above.
