Reverend Guitars Announces the Return of the Charger Guitar

The Charger is part of the Bolt-on Series, and will come in two versions. The 290, with Reverend’s own P-90 pickups, comes in Tobacco Burst with a rosewood fretboard or Deep Sea Blue with a maple neck.

Livonia, MI (April, 16, 2012) – The Reverend Charger, a fan favorite for many years, will be revived at the Dallas Guitar Show, April 20-22. The Charger is part of the Bolt-on Series, and will come in two versions. The 290, with Reverend’s own P-90 pickups, comes in Tobacco Burst with a rosewood fretboard or Deep Sea Blue with a maple neck. The HB will have two Reverend Humbuckers, and comes in Natural Korina (with rosewood) or Metallic Red (with maple.) Both versions will have a hard tail bridge and both will feature our new pickup design with a chrome metal control plate.

Reverend Charger 290 has a fat, raw bluesy tone, and the Charger HB is for the big rock tones with clarity. Like all Reverends, The Charger has a Korina body which is consistently responsive and lively; and it has the Reverend Bass Contour, our passive bass reduction control. The original models were built between 2005 and 2008.

I bought a Charger 290, tobacco sunburst/maple fretboard, in 2007 and it is a GREAT guitar. Looks and sounds great. Plays like butter. EXCELLENT FOR SLIDE GUITAR. And stays in tune much better than my American Fenders and Gibsons.

If you haven't played one of these, do yourself a favor and try one out. They are well built, classically designed, and offer enough options to cover a wide range of music.
