Riffs: Steel Legend Helms Dies, Metallica Radio, Lemmy

Don Helms Dies

Don Helms, the man who played steel on more than 100 Hank Sr. songs, has died of a heart attack. Helms was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1984. Helms was 81.

Kinda like Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Radio, Metallica fans will soon have their own radio station. "Mandatory Metallica" launches August 16th on XM satellite radio.

Lemmy Interview

Plenty of Lemmy in the news: First his Marshall amp was released and now Rolling Stone publishes an interview. Next, Motorhead's 20th studio release, Motorizer, comes out August 26th and then his own documentary, Lemmy: The Movie is set for release sometime in 2009.
