Roland Introduces the GA-212 & GA-112 Guitar Amps

The GA series leverages Roland’s renowned COSM technology to create newly-voiced amplifiers

Los Angeles, CA (March 23, 2012) -- Roland introduces the new GA-212 and GA-112 guitar amplifiers. The GA-212 and GA-112 stage amplification systems meet the rigorous demands of performing guitarists. Unlike modeling amps that set out to recreate the sound of multiple vintage classics, the GA series leverages Roland’s renowned COSM technology to create newly-voiced amplifiers with versatile, expressive tones and simple, intuitive operation. They deliver an organic playing experience characteristic of top-level tube designs, with all the advantages that modern digital processing brings, including memory, low noise, and more. From the arena to the club, the GA amps deliver world-class power and tone.

• GA-212: 200-watt amp with two 12" speakers
• GA-112: 100-watt amp with one 12" speaker
• Original COSM amp model (Progressive Amp) with incredible feel, attack, natural compression, and sustain
• Morph through clean to super-extreme tones with the DRIVE knob and BOOST button
• Intuitive operation with simple, fast-access structure; two volume controls, three tone controls, presence, and reverb
• Smart Channel memorizes the current position of knobs in all four channels without programming or saving
• LEDs in the knobs show current settings in any channel, great for dark stages

Actually this amp looks really sturdy and inviting to play it. Serial and parallel loop is huge advantage for me.I am considering buying it,though I will wait to see it at NAMM. Hope they come with 50/20 watt version.

Patrick Putman Lead guitar of the New Experience Band. I'm ready for some Japanese nuclear Fallout sounds. I'm unhappy with the Fenders in the 1,200 dollar range. Crank it up and tweet it in. Let's be open minded people!!!!!

I don't think it looks that bad......kinda retro, kinda modern. Looks don't matter when the sound comes out though and I think this will sound GREAT !! Extremely flexible too.

I think this amp will sell BIG time! I know it is far from beautiful, but I personally get sick of the same ole-looking amps in the stores today. I have a 1989 JCM 800 100 watt head with 4X12 slant cab, a Fender Deluxe Twin Reverb and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III and a ZT Lunchbox with cab. Now this is my next purchase.....It will sound sweet with my new Boss GT 100 .....I can't wait!

Roland products can sound as good as mesa Boogie products if you know how to use them. I own a cube 80xl and a Mesa Boogie combo, the Boogie is better cause of bigger cab and 2 12's, I expect this amp to sell very well cause we are all tired of tube maintenance and noise.

I own a Cube 80 XL and the JC clean tones are very sweet sounding, plus some of the other settings such as Blackface and Rectifier. The 80 Xl weighs about 36 pounds and the new GA 112 weighs the same as the Mesa 5-50 express at 54 pounds. I own this amp as well. Probably with the larger cabinet in the GA 112 will yield a fuller sounding bass. As for looks, I think it's cool looking. I'm buying this as soon as it's available. No more tubes to mess with as I always have a tube over-heat in my Mesa which pisses me off big time. I use to hate solid state amps until Roland.

Who cares what an amp looks like, well sure it's nice to have some thing that looks boutique. B U T Is it not about what we hear. After all it is a tool of music. We use our ears for that not our eyes. Roland rocks and if this is anywhere near close to there cube series this thing will be a great tool to have in the cabinet. Remember Roland = Boss and Boss = Kicks butt guitar tone!

I give it an 'F' in terms of cosmetics. Only the Japanese could make something that looks so ugly. But I like the concept. I'll have to try one out once they hit the market here in the US. I love the sounds you can get out of the cube series. Maybe they'll make a head version at some point.
