Burgaw, NC (May 2, 2011) – René Martinez, one of the best-known guitar techs in the business, has released his own line of custom pickups and tech tools in conjunction with Mojo Musical Supply. Martinez is currently the guitar tech for John Mayer, and was tech for Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as Prince and Santana. To design his line of products, Martinez drew on his 30 years of experience working for some of the most demanding and talented guitarists around.
Among the products in the new line are a 6-way signal splitter, René Martinez Big Core guitar strings, René Martinez Graphit
All nut lubricant, a string winder, fretboard conditioner, guitar polish, and a custom tech tool set. The 6-way splitter was a Martinez innovation Vaughan used to send his guitar signal to up to six amps for huge Texas-blues tone.
Martinez’s Custom Wound pickups are a blended alnico magnet single-coil set and a lipstick pickup set tuned by Martinez’s discriminating ear.
