Summer NAMM: Custom Amps From Peavey

by Premier Guitar

Peavey made a statement with custom, handwired amps

Nashville, TN (July 9, 2008) -- Those boutique amps just keep getting smaller and smaller, but who knew that a handwired 1-watt amp would be coming from a company like Peavey? Check out their "Have it Your Way" amp line, built in the USA with whatever specifications you desire -- knobs, tubes, anything.

Hey Joe, that's because Premier Guitar is single-handedly turning NAMM from an industry trade show for salty industry people to a showcase destined for the public's eyes. NAMM used to be, and I guess still is in some ways, meant to showcase products that will be in your local stores down the road. All these NAMM videos hitting the masses so early is a little confusing. Regardless, I'm glad PG is taking us there. Now, how do I go about getting a pass to see all this cool stuff at NAMM myself?! :>

I love how you go to the Peavey site on the link and there's not one mention of this anywhere!

The 1.5U7 has 2 12AX7's , and a 12AU7, or a 6CG7 running in AB configuration.

The 2084V6 is NOT the first amp to run El84's and 6V6's, nor did the Peavey rep say it was. Egnator is NOT the first either. Go back and look through those old WE tube manuals.

1.5 watts is louder than you think. Wattage and volume is not a linear comparison. 1.5 watts through a 412 in my house still isn't (in my case) wife friendly.

You people are taking some pretty innocent, common lingo waaaay too seriously. Do you really expect the guitar industry, which is probably 95% male to act 100% politically correct? Most of us in this country prioritize the freedom to offend anyone a little higher than the idea that people have the freedom to not be offended. Chew on that, suckers.

Good grief! Some of the comments here make me feel ashamed to be male. I thought we'd moved on, obviously not!

The Peavey rep is without question out of line as are some of the commentators.

OT: I prefer my DRRI.

Black Heart has a 1 watt killer ant head. Sorry but you should check your facts.

Oh no they ripped off egnator by putting 6v6 and el84 's in the same amp.

I want Shawna. Big time. Oh, and these better not be paid ads. I thought they just went there and videotaped stuff going on at booths. If I want disguised ads crammed down my throat I'll read the other guitar mags.
