Limited Edition Bill Kirchen Signature Model Tube-Combo Amp Now Available From Talos Musical instruments

Springfield, VA (July 29, 2009) – Talos Instruments has announced a limited edition run of the Bill Kirchen Signature Model series tube combo guitar amplifier. Based on the acclaimed Talos Basic, the BKSM offers the same specs and configurations that Bill Kirchen ordered for his personal amp. Lead guitar player for the legendary Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, as well as a very successful solo artist and session guitarist, Bill Kirchen has been playing Talos guitar amps since 2002.

The Talos amplifiers are noted for their excellent made-in-USA design/construction and acclaimed sound quality that allows more of the guitar's sonic essence and harmonics to come through. The BKSM specs and features are voiced to Kirchen’s preference for clear, shimmering lead picking tones as well as fat, warm chords. The features include 6L6 output, custom-wound transformers, premium Jensen neodymium magnet 12-inch speaker, 25 watt/50 watt output modes, redesigned output section, on/off cooling fan switch. Tone-tailoring amp options include Gain and Drive pull controls and “Fat/Bright” switch.

The BKSM comes in a beautifully lacquered poplar cabinet sprayed in a Kirchen-"burst” finish. The amp comes in its own road case with custom cover. Direct pricing for the BKSM is $5000 and orders can be placed by calling 703-764-7005.

Talos and Music tech are frauds, best not to waste your time or money. Ethics is definately lacking.

Most guitarists will not think twice about spending $2,000-$3,000 on a guitar, and own several of them. Also, most guitarists own several amplifiers; one for each size gig and some for different tones. The Basic takes off from where the old tweeds used to take us and then some. Granted, the Signature is a bit pricey, but many details go into its making and it is a limited production item because of that. Please stay tuned for more models in more price ranges; however, Talos amplifiers will never be "cheap" as we strive to make amplifiers that you love just as much as you love your favorite guitar. Why plug your $3,000 guitar into a $600 amplifier? Come see us at the Nashville Amp Expo!

I don't get it, I have played thru one of Bill Kirchen's amps years ago- Our blues band got to play a set during his band's break(using their gear)- It was a Silverface Pro Reverb-which sounded great! I own a '68 Deluxe Reverb, whic also sounds great... A $5000 amp is just for rich sucker baby boomers!

How dare they feature a Kirchen Signature Model and not show a tele!!! After all Kirchen is a tele-master. $5K is way more than I would spend but Kirchen does get amazing tones out of his Talos.

I love Big Bill's playing. And he gets some great Tones, too! Many of them. And all from a pretty simple, straightforward set up.

But there's just no way I can justify a $5,000.00 amp.

And I bet this Talos Amp sounds incredible. I haven't heard it, but Bill Kirchen has. He seems to give it a Thumbs-Up. So, no disrespect to the amp 's Makers.

I'm not one of those players who rags on people for spending big $$$ on Boutique gear. I have some, myself. But $5k for an amp?

Hey, if they can get the money they're asking, more power to them! I am definately a Capitalist. Fully support that idea.
But I can't see thwm moving too many of these.

Of course, that may not be their objective with this amp.

I would love the chance to play through one.
