Tone Americana Announces the Evil Robot-C30

The imported Evil Robot-C30 offers more features at a more affordable price point

Los Angeles, CA (March 6, 2012) – Tone Americana announced today the new Evil Robot-C30. Distributors have been asking for this model since the USA model launched in 2010. The imported Evil Robot-C30 offers more features at a more affordable price point.

The Evil Robot-C30 features 30-watt Class A power section complete with cooling fan, power on switch and a three function toggle switch for Standby, 18W, and 30W operation. The front end includes two switching channels with independent volume controls having a range from classic rock and blues, to country and jazz. In addition, the Evil Robot-C30 comes with a unique '50s-style vibrato, a master volume, and old school, chicken head knobs. On the back end, the combo amp features an external speaker out, impedance selector and remote foot switch connector for A and B channels and Vibrato. The Evil Robot-C30 also features industrial ear tuned transformers and a custom 12” speaker customized specifically for an older vintage style tone. All weighing in at under 28 lbs and selling at an MSRP of $899.

To achieve the design and tones of the Evil Robot-C30, Tone Americana sought the help of recognized designer/engineer, John Kasha who was responsible for sourcing, quality control and manufacturing of the Evil Robot-C30 overseas. Kasha Designs was also responsible the original classic Evil Robot hand wired USA models including the Combo, Head and 2x12 Speaker Cabinet and Reverb Pedal.

In acknowledgement for his contribution, each Evil Robot bears the name of Phil X. Phil works extensively with Fretted Americana as the host of over 300 videos produced to demonstrate, promote and sell the inventory of Fretted Americana. A constant fixture in the L.A. music scene, it was Phil who filled the shoes of Richie Sambora during the last Bon Jovi tour.

Pedals are for pussies.. This is a great sounding amp. Sounds better than a Marshall or Mesa Stack. Great Dist, can hear all the note. This is an amp for people who can play really. If you have to go bigger and louder than you require something to hide all your mistakes... Great job Phil... \m/ \m/

Skip, if Juke amp was so good, why are you guys trying to hijack on the Evil Robot announcement. I have the original 18W Evil Robot hand signed my Phil and I also owned a Juke. Evil Robot has more wattage and is warmer in my opinion. Everywhere I go, I get complemented on my sound. I also owned a Tonemaster 216 which sold me on Magnitone early on. I sold the Juke on eBay recently. Got half what I paid for it, that sucked!

There is another amp builder besides Kasha making Magnatone type amps. Check out Juke Amps (jukeamps.com). He's a one man builder who builds them by hand in the USA.

This guy's NUTS! (in a good way, I might add.) Plays really well, and he looks and acts like he's having a great time. The amp sounds good too--I'd have liked to hear some clean tones, though, but that's a beef that I have with a lot of video reviews--they ignore those of us who need to play clean a lot of the time. Try doing a jazz or traditional country gig with even the cleanest of those rockin' tones and you'll likely get fired, although I liked the way the amp cleaned up with the guitar's volume knob.

Blaine and Bob you really need to try this amp live, you will change your tune quickly. No pedal will do this, not even close...

I agree with bob - whats the big deal about this amp. I'm not much for the sound whether old usa hand-wired or china hand-wired. Probably the only diff in the hand wired is the age of the girl soldering the board and if she from Mexico or China. But, really! free-ride" is not the tone I'm looking to replicate. This amp has no warmth - and I agree with bob there's plenty of pedals that will get you this sound. No disrespect to Phil X - I'm a big fan - who wouldn't be - he's a excellent guitar brother! He's put some heart into this project and it just needs a bit more work.

I love this guy. Amps' cool too, but the two channels didn't sound like they were voiced that different.

This amp kicks ass, even sounds better than the original in my opinion listening to it first hand at the NAMM show. Bob has no idea what he is talking about. Tweet Phil and ask him yourself. You won't get this sound with a Bad Money, count on it.
