PG's Jordan Wagner is On Location in Chicago, IL, at Kuma's Corner's 4th Anniversary Block Party where Clutch, Baroness and Lionize performed. In this video segment, Jordan catches up with Clutch's Tim Sult (guitarist) and Dan Maines (bassist) and talks all things gear and their new record, "Strange Cousins From the West". Tim's current rig includes an old JMP head, Orange Tiny Terror combo, JCM800 that all go through a 1960 Marshall cab loaded with Vintage 30s. For guitars, he sticks with a 70's LP. As for Dan Maines, he uses an Ampeg Classic Series SVT-VR head and alternates between a 4x10 or 8x10 cab depending on the stage/venue size. For a bass, he generally sticks with a Lakland P-style bass. Both guys keep the effects to a minimum as they only use the occasional wah pedals.

PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Chicago, IL, where he catches up with Black Label Society's guitarist, Nick Catanese. In this video segment, we talk all things gear, Nick's beliefs on effects and his big move from Washburn to PRS. Recently, Nick has started using PRS guitars and later this year they'll be coming out with his signature model that will feature a double-cutaway, a Floyd Rose trem and EMG pickups. For amps, in BLS he uses Marshall heads and cabs from Zakk Wylde's Wall of Doom and for his own project Speed X he uses Fuchs Viper 100 heads and Electro Voice cabinets. For effects, he uses his signature Fuchs distortion pedal, the Noxious, a Dunlop Rotovibe, BOSS Stereo Chorus, Dunlop wah wah and Morley Bad Horsey.

Joe Taylor-guitarist-plays a Gibson Les Paul Standard that runs through a Framus Cobra head and Framus 4x12 cabinets. And the only pedals Joe uses are a Vox wah and Boss TU-2 tuner. JD uses Hartke 8x10 cabs, which split through a Hartke LH1000 and Zoom bass heads. For effects, he uses a ZOOM B.1UT bass effects unit.

PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Texas where he chats gear with Sevendust guitarist, Clint Lowery. In this video segment, they run down Clint's signal chain. For guitars, Clint uses various PRS models, but his go-to guitar is a standard PRS model he calls Bruce Lee. For amps, Clint uses Diamond Phantom heads (live) and has used a Mesa Boogie Mark IV for all his recordings. And to make things sound special he runs various pedals, including a Digitech whammy, MXR Phase 90, a volume pedal, TC Electronic delay, chorus pedal and envelope filter.

In the fifth installment of Reunion Blues' Vintage Guitars Road Show, the guys hit up Guitar Showcase at Large in San Jose, California.

In this segment:

We get to check out an early-50s Gibson ES-175 Electric Archtop which features the original specs, including a single P90 pickup in the neck position. Later models featured a humbucking pickup.

The next guitar was an original Epiphone Model 4 roundhole acoustic archtop. As described in the video, this is one of the oldest instruments to be featured in Vintage Guitar Show. Check out how they determine its authenticity..ONLY PROFESSIONALS!!
Another guitar featured is a relatively new model in the vintage market, an original Kramer guitar. But what makes this guitar special is the one-off paint job done by San Francisco artist, Mark Erickson.

Reunion Blues has started a series of Vintage Guitar Road Shows, and invited Premier Guitar to join in and be a sponsor. The first one held at Bananas at Large in San Rafael, CA, saw some very nice collectible guitars. The owner of an '57 Gibson L5C brought in his guitar to be appraised and found it was worth approximately $8000. However, it would have been worth more if it hadn't been modified. More shows are planned across the US so stay tuned for dealer locations and more videos.
