On any tuner, the visual interface is EVERYTHING! Virtual strobes are not even comparable (IMHO) to the REAL stroboscopic effect you see on a Peterson or old Conn. I've used them all, and I can truly say the Conn ST-11 is the most "human-friendly" tuner ever.

Holy crap!! You might want to think about looking into some gear so I don't blow my out my ear drums from how horribly mixed the audio is. The splash screen is at a good level then the actual video is whisper quiet, so I turned it up and then almost when deaf when the end splash screen came up.

A way to "do that" without physically moving anything? Do what?
What in the hell are you talking about? It's just a display. A "virtual strobe" is a bunch of black bars on a custom LCD. It's nonsense -- useless.
A real strobe tuner utilizes the pattern on the disc and the frequency of the flashing light to directly indicate pitch. People didn't buy those things because they wanted to look at the display -- the rotating disc was what was necessary to make the strobe light into a tuner.
Now I suppose people just want to see bars move for some damn reason -- I don't get it. I'm gonna pay a premium for that? Why? It's stupid. I mean, they charge real money for these things!
And this guy is proud of this invention? I guess, if they've bamboozled enough people into thinking it's a "virtual strobe." I'm having a virtual stroke laughing.

How about making a mechanical strobe that's automatic? I bought a Sonic Research ST 122 but couldn't get used to it after using my Conn ST-11 for 34 years. The Conn is beginning to fail and so are my shoulders, so an auto mechanical strobe would be my only consideration over buying a used ST-11
