This is not his original frankenstien which was truely a mish mosh of after market parts and gibson PAF, this is kramer's version of Eddie's original. I am sure he had dozens made for this tour, and they all would have looked similar/identical. Most of these guitars would not have excessive wear because they started the tour brand new! I dont care who you are, its hard to wear dozens of guitars out over the course of a year unless you do a pete townsend destruction act, or you do a Hendrix style Viking funeral at the end of each show. Awesome threads!

im sure this was a main backup. i have photos of eddie playing what looks just like this guitar on the 5150 tour. yes this one was repainted but it still looks the same. same stripe pattern and headstock, kramer logo. if anyone wants to see them contact me on myspace or twitter.

I'm sure Eddie will be unveiling another guitar endorsement with a new company soon. He'll put his name on anything. The beauty is that, he is so good it really doesn't matter what he plays. lol.

Go to Michael Anthony's site and their is a link to Dugan's website. Eddie probably hates him so much for working for Mike and Sammy now and I am sure Dugan's departure was acrimonious. That is why he sold it, to really piss off Eddie. You know EVH hates people making money off of him more than anything. This sale was just a FU to EVH I guarantee.

I was at NAMM the year Peavey introduced the EVH Wolfgang. I wanted to check out one of their amps, and the rep handed me a Wolfgang. "Hey," I said. "That's cool that you're putting Eddie's strap hooks on these." "We're not," said the rep. "That's Eddie's guitar--don't tell him we let you play it." Well, I don't know Eddie, so he'll never know. (Well, he may now!) Anyway, if by some chance Eddie were to invite me onstage to play his guitar (fat chance!), I'd have to turn him down--I couldn't play on his setup! The strings were too light for me, action too high, and the vibrato bar was so loose that it moved a good inch before the bridge moved! Eddie plays great stuff with that setup, but I sure couldn't use it! And $45 grand for that guitar? No, thanks...

I agree. The lack of wear was a red flag. If you see pics of the original Frankenstein it's all beat to hell. My guess would be he rarely, if hardly ever played this one. $45,000? Jeez, people have money to just piss away, lmao!
