PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Meridian, MS, where he gets a tour of Peavey's new Custom Shop facilities with CEO/Founder Hartley Peavey. In this video, we get to see one of Peavey's first Custom Shop prototype amps. In addition, one of the new Tele-style Custom Shop guitars gets played through the Dumble-esque amplifiers.

I'm with TumbleDude, own it and it's one that Tim Jauernig, while he was there, actually built and worked on. OMG! Tone to die for! 212 model and I run it through another vintage Peavey 212 cabinet (1977 year built with original speakers). BTW, Tim Jauernig is one heck of a nice guy and an amp guru that's hard to beat. Thank you Premier Guitar for this demonstration and video! Peavey bleeds Red, White and Blue! How much more American can you get than a handbuilt Peavey amp? Thanks Peavey for the amp that I consider my "once in a lifetime" piece of gear.

To everyone out there looking for the real-deal, Mr. Johnson is correct. Lars has been modding my plexi's since 1986. He is the real thing. It's all about the tone! Nothing cheap is good...... And nothing good is cheap.

I dont like it. Half the tone is there but it doesnt have the bloom and harmonics of a dumble or a good clone.

I own this amp. it is now aptly called the Masterpiece. It's a great amp. I play better every time I turn it on. Inspirational.

Sounds like any number of other halfway-there amps made by techs who are only halfway-there in their quest for the tone of the gods. Not a bad amp, but not what I'd buy, either. If you're looking for the real deal, contact Lars Jacobson at AWR, LTD, in Melbourne, Florida. His amps aren't cheap but they don't suck! I use one, set up to my tastes as a heavy metal monster masher, and it smokes just about everything you can stack it up against. It makes that Peavey amp sound like it has no gain at all and it has the crunch from hell. At the same time, its clean tone is huge and sweet and feels like the chorus is already turned on. Gorgeous.

Doward Humble sounds like he almost knew what he was talking about, not. All tube amps have their roots from RCA tube manual and other early circuits. Including Dumble, Soldano, and Mesa Boogie with all the patents. Everyone is cloning but call people that build their own cloners and stealers? Nice touch Harvey keep the custom stuff coming.

The "doward humble" poster is a forum rumor rat. A liar. Peavey Custom Shop Amps, JSX, Penta, Triple X, 6505/6505 Plus, & Classic series amps are tube amps made in the U.S.

Nice vid. Keep these coming, as they are a great way to check things out. As for this one, Peavey makes great gear.

Pretty sad that a company so proud if it's patents and all it's innovation, and all it's "Mr America Manufacturing" just sends all their production to China. Wonder if the chassis use lead paint ? Then simply hires this wannabee technician Juernik (who used to sloppily build homemade tube screamer clones in his garage) and suddenly he and Mr.Peavey simply took the Dumble circuits they found online, and suddenly a 200 million dollar amp company tries to become a boutique manufaturer. Maybe if Mr Dumble will sue him like Soldano did, over stealing the SLO-100 circuit designs...Man, can this company come up with anything original ? It's almost fitting that Bugera (Behringer)is now knocking off Peavey designs daily. Seems almost a fair payback. What kind of customer would you expect to support a sleazy organizaion like this Hartley ? Can't design anything innovative Juernik ? pretty sad...They sound nothing like the Dumble names you freely toss about. Fuchs, Two Rock, Bruno, Bludotone, Glaswerks and even Ceriatone sound more like the intended tone you're trying to replicate... way to go. BAD ARTISTS COPY , GOOD ARTISTS STEAL...
