PG's Chris Burgess is On Location at NAMM '09 where he stops by the Jet Fretz booth. In this clip we talk with Jet Fretz founder Jason Rivera as we gives us the inside scoop behind his new frets and what they can do for your guitar. In addition, we get to hear these babies in action as Jason plays us a little demo.

I bet these really don't do much at all.
I have no sustain issues with my guitars.
What's strange is that they do not have a demo using 2 identical guitars showing the sustain. Thy should play one simple long "NON-vibrato" note with these new frets versus an identical with standard frets to proove their claims.
Since they don't, it screams snake oil.

ya i can definitly tell the difference. i went into the store today and Jason gave me the run down. same things that Mike said before. I played them. its like they play back at you. the only thing i could say against them is that they arent pretty. rather thick and bulky. but they do the trick.

Seeing is believing and so is hearing. I can tell you firsthand that these frets are mind blowing. A few years ago Jason did a test with 2 Ibanez electric guitars. He would play the Ibanez without the Jet Fretz and then I would hand him the guitar decked out with the Jet Fretz. Then, he went back to the 1st guitar and then after playing that, I handed him the Jet Fretz Ibanez. The difference in sound was amazing. They have a clean tone that you have to hear and when you want sustain, you don't even need a feedback pedal; they just keep ringing. Just recently, we did another test with the acoustic version on two Martin D 28 guitars. The same results again. I sat there just plucking single notes and listening to them ring way longer and cleaner than I've ever experienced. When Jason went back to the D 28 (that didn't have the J Fretz) after playing the Martin with the J Fretz, (I hate to say this), but it sounded dead. I've played the frets and I've watched Jason and his guitar teachers just ripping on these things and having the greatest fun like they've just fallen in love with playing the guitar all over again. Just like Steven said, you just have to play these babies and you will become a believer.

Yea, they are different looking. But the physics behind everything is totally true. Stevie Ray Vaughn used the biggest frets on the market( actually I think he used bass frets), because the bigger the fret the bigger the sound and sustain. This guy might actually have a killer product. I would like to hear it clean.

um, high gain demo for fret sustain? not exactly a great way to highlight the sustain. hell, any old piece of crap will sustain with that much gain... and what horrible gain it was too. ugly. looks like an interesting product though.

Wow! This is the first time I've seen someone actually do something different to a guitar fret, I'd like to try them.

These frets are amazing, I actually live in Ohio and have been to the store where they sell them. The clarity is mind blowing, and the sustain is awesome. This is a product that you just have to play to believe.
