PG's Rebecca Dirks is On Location in Iowa City, IA, where she catches up with 311's guitarist, Tim Mahoney and they talk all things gear. In this video segment, Tim walks us through his live rig including, his various PRS, Gibson and Ibanez guitar models. In addition, we get to check out his Diamond amps and cabinets and his "party board," which includes over 15 effects (Mutron II, Boomerang phrase sampler, Memory Man).

Awesome rig!!! I'm sure Tim has a stripped down rig for smaller venues or home use. I would have liked to see that! I couldn't afford have the stuff he has. Then again, I'm not a rock-star. Thx PG for putting together another great video!!!

I love it when a guy like this plays multiple brands, including stuff many of us scoff at. He is obviously driven by tone and has the blinders on when it comes to brand names. Amen, brother.

Those "Korina" Ibanez from the mid 70's are made of Sen "Japanese Ash", but finishes to make them look like Korina. I'll take a close-up of one of finish chips on my Furura if you don't believe me ;)
