PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Chicago, IL, where he catches up with Black Label Society's guitarist, Nick Catanese. In this video segment, we talk all things gear, Nick's beliefs on effects and his big move from Washburn to PRS. Recently, Nick has started using PRS guitars and later this year they'll be coming out with his signature model that will feature a double-cutaway, a Floyd Rose trem and EMG pickups. For amps, in BLS he uses Marshall heads and cabs from Zakk Wylde's Wall of Doom and for his own project Speed X he uses Fuchs Viper 100 heads and Electro Voice cabinets. For effects, he uses his signature Fuchs distortion pedal, the Noxious, a Dunlop Rotovibe, BOSS Stereo Chorus, Dunlop wah wah and Morley Bad Horsey.

Who is he?, What has he done?... I don't know, but he obviously impressed Zakk Wylde enough to get the gig. That in it of itself speaks volumes. Zakk is the shit and I trust his judgement... pretty tough guy to audition for I'm sure. I've never heard of him until now, but this guy Nick sure seems like a humble guy that can play his ass off. Thanks to Premier Guitar and Joe C. for exposing us to someone we should probably learn more about.

After being treated like an OLD SOCK nobody at WASHBBBBURN so much as even offered Nick a contract renewal after 5 years, oh well THEIR LOSS is PRS GAIN, watch for the Nick "The Evil Twin" Catanese signature series PRS soon.

I think Neal Schon had Floyd Roses (but no EMG's) on his PRS' way before Nick did.

Love BLS, Zakk and Nick... unfortunately for me being a father/husband I can't even afford the brochure for a PRS (i do have pics though! LOL). Love PRS so even though, and I'm stoked Nick's getting a signature model! S~D~M~F see you Aug 2nd Nick.

I thought Nick was happy with Washburn, but if you get free prs's,why not.I know with they're price point,I'll never be able to afford your sig.guitar.To bad, most of us working musicians can't afford that kind of gear. It's really sad.
