Jordan reviews the Vox Night Train head. The Night Train is a single-channel 15 watt head that has a switch for either Pentode (15 watts) or Triode modes (7.5 watts). Another dynamic option is the Bright / Thick switch that accentuates the high-frequency components for a clear, ringing tone (Bright) or bypasses the tone circuit to boost the gain and create a chunkier, heavier sound (Thick). Other features include 2-EL84 power tubes, 2-12AX7 preamp tubes and has knobs for Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass and Master Volume.

I just bought one and it is incredible, loud enough for pub gigs and great for recording. Playing it through two 10" Celestions, just fantastic and yes it does sound better than this demo.

Maybe demoing with a Gretch or Rickenbacker might have been nice too.

It's bright or thick...clean/crunch or crunchier.
I own one, it's a great amp.
Really snappy and bright or nice and smooth with great dynamics.

This Bright/Thick switch... can you put it to neutral position or it always engaged?

I own one of these amps and it doesn't sound in person anything like this demonstration video. I use it to power up a four twelve cab with two greenbacks and two blue bells and it has a thousand times better sound than thru that eggbeater cab. If you're thinking about buying a Night train, go try one out in person. Get off the computer and get a life.

Try a different Mike or Mike position maybe? Sounds a bit like playing trough a cardboard box to me.

Totally badass! I was leery of that amp at first, but hearing it has changed my mind completely. I too would love to hear it with a Strat or something with P-90s. Great stuff!

Yah, wth? Why didn't you guys make an hour long demo in a TV studio and use 100 different guitars/cabs and have EVH do the demo? Slackers!!!

I agree with PJ on the single coils. Still, based on everything else I've heard regarding this amp it looks awesome.
