PG's Chris Kies is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits the G&L Guitars booth. In this video, we get our first look at G&L's Jerry Cantrell Rampage (both import and USA models), where were introduced at the show. Both come built to Jerry's specs and feature a a heavily contoured body and a lone humbucker in the bridge position. We also get to see their F-100 reissue guitar that features a mahogany body, the option of Seymour Duncan or EMG active pups and a G&L fulcrum bridge. In addition, we get our first look at the JB Bass which comes with either alder or swamp ash bodies, G&L alnico jazz pickups and hard maple neck (either rosewood or maple fingerboard).

Does every idiot that plays guitar deserve his/her own signature model? I put my own together from parts so I guess I make my own as well.

I have to admit to you I was not impressed with the display booth at the NAMM 09 / Anaheim show. I thought you all lacked display appeal. I've always beena diehard Fender player, then got exposed to the G&L line through my music store. I now own a G&L Asat Custom and just acquired a quilt maple top tobacco burst S-500 which is eye stunning. I read where Leo was not high on the marketing of the G&L line as much as the QC. He should be proud of you all as the G&L line in my humble but boastful opinion, second to no one. Silky smooth neck, play, electronics and finish are superb. Next on my radar is the Bluesboy. Although I prefer the USA made versions, the Tribute series again in my opinion is equal to most USA made guitars by other makers. Hope to see you next year Mr Moreno, and hope you'll accept the criticism to upgrade your display booth. Take care

The F-100 is my favorite guitar. I have a 1980 and gave my son a 1981. I'm glad G&L is re-introducing the model in both the F-100 two pickup and the Cantrell model. I agree with Loni - it's a killer guitar and an excellent tribute to Leo and George since the F-100 was the first production model starting in 1980.

It's a Kramer Focus 1000, or a Baretta, which is the same thing. Oh God, why?

I don't know if it's age but I'm really starting to dig 1-pickup guitars. Doesn't it drive you batty when you hear company reps say tings like: "We're really excited about what we've been doing this year..." Just once I'd love to hear someone say "We're really disappointed with the decisions we've made about our product line this year...." :-)

If the Cantel is half as good as my old F-100, it's a killer guitar!

It's about time JC has a sig. Can't wait to try it out.
