PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM
'09 where he visits the Diamond Amplification booth. In this video, we
get to see and hear Diamond's Spitfire II. In addition, we get a sneak
peek at their newest low-wattage head, the Del Fuego.
The
Spitfire II (the two-channel version) sports the Spitfire Is voicing in
Channel 1 and a full, rich vintage higher gain Channel 2 with DAs
signature dual volume, gain design. Channel 2s voicing is big and tight
like the vintage heads with an updated feel featuring plenty of lows
and mids. It comes loaded with 4-EL34s and 6-12AX7 preamp tubes.
The
Del Fuego is a hand-wired Class A, 22 watt head that is designed and
voiced off boutique amp builder Roy Blankenship's designs, but with a
Diamond twist. The Del Fuego uses 3-12AX7, 2-EL84 power tubes, and
1-6CA4 rectifier. It features two-channels (independent controls) with
a tremolo effect.
