PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Stevensville, MD, where he sits down with Paul Reed Smith. In this video segment, we get to hear from Paul Reed Smith about discontinuing over 10 models of guitars, the new 25th Anniversary line of guitars, PRS Amps (Sweet 16, 30 and Anniversary) and the Narrow Field pickups. It's funny, If Gibson or Fender 'change', everyone screams negativity. yet if they stay the same, then everyone screams negativity. Yet... if PRS stays the same OR changes, the fanboys applaud.

PRS isn't any good to me until they start accommodating left-handed players w/o an upcharge. Until they do they are even worse then Fender or Gibson.

PRS just know how to copy (no evolution). Body --> Yamaha SG with carlos Heard --> Vigier pickup --> Gibson By PRS means an expensive copy

Brilliant move, PRS. Celebrate the past but move on. Focus on the future.. no other guitar company is right now!!!!!!!!!

I attended this event with 1699 other enthusiastic musicians and/or affectionados of this truly fabulous and innovative guitar. It is truly a unique thing in an industry that truly needs this "shot in the arm." There is a completely positive vibe coming from this event that I have never experienced anywhere else. Paul Smith is a dedicated musician & inventor, who constantly strives for one thing: perfection in tone! Kudos to Paul and everyone else who made this happen. They truly show the musical world that they care about their customers and products, and are not just out to make that next corporate buck!

Excellent interview. PRS is always exploring new ways to capture just the right tones from his guitars. I hope they have another Experience event next year; I'm glad he took the "risk" to have the event. Alot of us missed out this time.

Change is inevitable. You can't let your product sit and just be or you will be yesterday's news. You have to work your craft and improve or discover a new "thing". PRS does just that. And does not rest on it's laurels. Keep it up. PRS.

This is a great example of how PRS guitars are in the business of making guitars unlike Gibson and Fender who have survived on and constantly reissue the same two or three models. Rock on for change PRS!
