PG's Jordan Wagner is On Location in Davenport, IA, on 12/07/09 where he catches up with Megadeth's guitarists Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick. In this video segment, both Dave and Chris walk us through their thrash metal setups.

As we all know, Mr. Mustaine uses signature Dean Guitars (with 6-on-a-side) and Marshall power amps and cabs. To keep things simple and preventing from a lot of moving pieces that could break down, they both use DigiTech GSP1101 preamp. The only thing different in Chris Broderick's rig is his guitar, he currently is using a Ibanez Prestige. While Broderick preferes the RG series, he's rolling with the Prestige because of the trem system.

I think It's safe to say none of us here are rock stars. If you have a good ear for your tone, I don't care how many amps a company want's to give you for free, you're not giving up your rig for nothing! I'm sure Dave knows how to go about getting his tone, free or not. With that being said, could this guy be more pompous?! I thought Lars currently wore that crown, but I've yet to hear him refer to himself as a legend. Gimme a break.

A "legend" deserves free equipment :) Mustiane is such a big Marshall guy that he didn't use them for 20 years. Looks like he finally dropped the Rocktron after flirting with Line 6 Marshall seems to have picked him up. Thrash sound with a DIgitech, yuk.

Even if he had to "pay" for his equipment he would still write it off as a business expense. These aren't toys for these guys, they've earned the endorsements.

holy crap does dave sound like an ass. man ... i try to like him ... anyone that hates the more pompous kerry king in mind is ok ... well ... maybe not. i suck ... i could never play in his band ... but if i was eating mac and cheese with lint in my pocket and had the world class skills and needed to play his gig, i don't think i could do it. i'd probably punch his whiny ass out in front of his fans. that would be glorious ... ha ha ... but i digress.
